Bringonthewave Risks Undefeated Record in Alberta Bred Futurity

EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA—SEPTEMBER 16, 2017—Dale Zukowski’s Bringonthewave will put his undefeated mark on the line in Saturday’s 330-yard, $45,000 Alberta Bred Futurity (RG3) at Northlands Park.

A gray son of 2006 world champion Wave Carver, Bringonthewave has earned $12,515 from three outs, and his three wins include a one-length victory in the 300-yard, $23,000 Jerry Stojan Futurity at Evergreen Park on July 23. The gelding drew post 6 and will be ridden by Ramiro Castillo.

Bringonthewave’s seven opponents include Mr Eleanor, a homebred First Timber gelding trained by Allen Goodsell for owner Teagan Goodsell. Mr Eleanor has won two of his five starts, including the 330-yard, $40,000 Alberta Stallion Futurity (R) on July 19, and he has banked $23,886.

Mr Eleanor drew post 2 and will be ridden by J.B. Botello.

Also on Saturday, a full field of eight 3-year-olds, headed by 9-5 morning-line favorite Poutn On The Wagon, has been entered back in the 330-yard, $22,350 Alberta Bred Derby (R). Raced exclusively in Alberta, the homebred Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding has won nine of 10 starts, including two graded stakes, and he has earned $73,507. Scott Sterr will ride Poutn On The Wagon from the rail post for trainer William Leech.
