SELMA, TX—JULY 28, 2016—Ricardo Barrera’s One Sweet Picky, a bay daughter of One Sweet Jess and the fastest qualifier, drew post 10 for Saturday’s 350-yard, $443,050 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) at Retama Park.
Trained by Rodolfo Sanchez, One Sweet Picky broke her maiden with a 1 1/4-length victory in the first of nine trials on July 15. Ivan Carnero will ride the filly on Saturday.
Jayronimo, a graded stakes placed Jess Zoomin colt trained by Brian Stroud for owner Michael Amburn, drew post 8 and will be ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr. Jayronimo has won three of his four starts and has earned $15,339, and his resume includes a third-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Maxx, in the 350-yard, $59,000 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3) on May 16.
