HOBBS, NM—SEPTEMBER 30, 2015—Sherree Meridyth’s Executive Trust drew post 4 for Sunday’s 870-yard, $55,000 Herman Jefferson Stakes (G3) at Zia Park.
A 4-year-old gray son of Executive Menace trained by Guadalupe Munoz Jr., Executive Trust is coming off of a half-length victory in the 870-yard, $30,000 Master Salls Handicap at Ruidoso Downs on August 9. The gelding has earned $61,062 from five starts, and his season record includes a second-place finish to CJs Rocksolid in the May 30, $50,000 Remington Distance Handicap (G3) at Remington Park.
Ruby Gonzalez will ride Executive Trust in the Herman Jefferson.
Emperor Valerian, a 7-year-old Heza Fast Dash gelding trained by Ernest Fennell for owner Salvador Pimienta, drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ivan Carnero. Emperor Valerian has won five races at the 870 distance, including the April 2, $50,000 Pauls Valley Handicap (G3) at Remington Park.
