Lethal N First is Morning-Line Favorite for NCQHRA Futurity

SHAKOPEE, MN-—AUGUST 1, 2014—Tom Maher’s Lethal N First, the fastest qualifier, is the 8-5 morning-line favorite for Sunday’s 350-yard, $40,150 North Central Quarter Horse Racing Association Futurity (R) at Canterbury Park.

A New Mexico-bred colt by champion First Moonflash trained by Jason Olmstead, Lethal N First broke his maiden with a 1 1/4-length victory in the last of three trials on July 20. Cody Smith has been named to ride Lethal N First from post 3 in the final.

BHR Guys Flash Me, the lone previous stakes winner in the 10-horse field, is a gray daughter of the Royal Quick Dash stallion CS Flashlight racing for Chad Pederson’s Broken Heart Ranch from the barn of Robert Johnson. On July 29 at Canterbury, the filly scored a half-length win in the 350-yard, $20,000 Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Futurity (R).

Derek Bell will ride BHR Guys Flash Me from post 9.
