Grade 2 Winner Mr Ease Cartel is Morning-Line Favorite in Delta Dash Stakes on Friday

VINTON, LA—APRIL 21, 2014—Mr Ease Cartel, a 4-year-old stallion by Corona Cartel racing for Chad Hart and Neff Hogue Farm LLC, is one of 10 sprinters entered in Friday’s 250-yard, $20,000 Delta Dash Stakes at Delta Downs.

The 5-2 morning-line choice, Mr Ease Cartel will be making his first start since August 17, when he ran fourth in a 440-yard All American Derby (G1) trial at Ruidoso Downs. The stallion earned $96,453 from five races last season, and his three wins included a nose victory as the third-fastest qualifier in the 400-yard, $206,000 El Primero del Ano Derby (G2) at Los Alamitos.

Heath Taylor trains Mr Ease Cartel. John Hamilton has been named to ride the stallion from post 4 in the Delta Dash.

Mr Ease Cartel’s nine opponents include Rene Amaro’s Katillac Man and Victor M. Silva’s Bux For Bricks. A graded stakes winning 5-year-old gelding by champion Country Chicks Man trained by Robert Meche, Katillac Man is coming off of a second-place finish to Toast To Patriot in the 250-yard, $15,000 Harrah’s Dash Stakes at Louisiana Downs on January 11.

Martin Rubalcava will ride Katillac Man from post 3 on Friday.

Trained by Fructuoso Huitron, Bux For Bricks most recently ran third, a neck behind winner Mi Angela, in the March 28, 330-yard Silestone Stakes (R) for Texas-bred distaffers at Sam Houston Race Park. The 3-year-old Zoomin For Bux filly also ran second in last year’s 350-yard, $442,000 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Retama Park.

Saul Ramirez Jr. has been named to ride Bux For Bricks.
