Professor Gee Easy Winner, Set Top Mark In John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge Trials

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB—JULY 17, 2021—Professor Gee, a 2-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Fly Thru The Fire, raced to a two-length win on Sunday while posting the fastest qualifying time for the John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge at Grand Prairie.

The eight fastest qualifiers from the two trial races today will return on Sunday, July 31st to vie for the winner's share of a $30,000-added purse going 350 yards. 

Also at stake is a starting spot the winner will get in the Grade 2 $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship to be held October 22nd at Horseshoe Indianapolis during the Bank of American Challenge Championships.

Jockey Ricardo Moreno rode Professor Gee over the 350 yards in :18.418 seconds, in the opening trial, to establish the fastest qualifying time. It was the second win three starts for the California-bred gelding. He broke his maiden at Century Mile in his last start June 24.

Owner Jerry Stojan paid $11,000 for Professor Gee in the 2021 Los Alamitos Equine Mixed Sale in Los Alamitos, California. William Leech conditions the Edward C. Allred bred gelding out of Bemused by Separatist. He has earned $5,796.

Alberta Stallion Stakes winner O Seeyalater was a three-quarter length winner in the second trial to get the second fastest clocking of :18.487 seconds into a 20 mph crosswind. Wesley T. Oulton trains the daughter of leading Canadian sire First Timber for owner Jeffrey Rath.

Rath paid $12,000, the third highest-seller, for brown filly at the 2021 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale.

Also bred by Oulton, from the Pappasito mare Howdoyado, O Seeyalater has compiled a (5) 2-0-2 record and earned $24,700.  Earlier this year she was third in a trial for the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) and third in a trial for the Heritage Place Futurity(G1) at Remington Park.
