Fastest Qualifier Tempting Annee Gl Dominates John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile

CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 24, 2017—Fastest qualifier Tempting Annee Gl posted a dominating performance under jockey Mario Delgado when she defeated Fast Prize Rumor by 1-˝ lengths in the $47,700 John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

Sunday's victory propels the Tempting Dash filly into the $130,000-Guaranteed Grade 2 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship during the Bank of America Challenge Championships on October 14th at Prairie Meadows.

Saddled by R.L. "Rick" Robinson, Tempting Annee Gl completed the 350-yard course in :17.459 seconds, a 98-speed index into a 12-mph crosswind. It was the third win five starts for the Garza Laurel Partnership LLC owned Texas-bred out of Grande Annee by Devon Lance(TB).

The bay filly broke her maiden on July 1st at Fair Meadows then posted the fastest qualifying time in the September 10th Juvenile trials at Will Rogers. The $21,924 winners' purse today boosted her bankroll to $31,942. Francisco Javier Garza is the breeder.

Multiple stakes-placed Fast Prize Rumor was a game second under jockey James Flores for trainer John Weghorst. Jose Guzman owns the son of leading first-crop sire Hez Our Secret from the Corona Cartel mare Coronas Fast Prize.

Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, Fast Prize Rumor was third in the Oklahoma Juvenile Invitational at Remington Park in March. The $9,540 runner-up Juvenile check brings his earnings to $31,296.

Olena Sangria, a daughter of Dashair racing for owner Robbin Caldwell, finished a nose behind Fast Prize Rumor to pick up $4,770 for third. Tana Caldwell conditions with Larry Payne getting the riding call.

A finalist in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity in June, Olena Sangria was bred from Mt Rob This Corona by The Corona. Robbin Caldwell and Makynzie Brown is the breeder.

Tres Of Elegants, Talladega Hotrod, Ivory Trader, It’s a Blackjack, Mr Eye Opening Task, Easy Money Jess and Jc Yellow Rose completed the field.
