Vodka With Ice(s) Return to Bank of America Challenge Championship

BOISE, ID–AUGUST 9, 2014—Vodka With Ice, winner of the 2013 Bank of American Challenge Championship(G1), earned a return invite to the 2014 Championship race on Saturday night with a one-length win in the $81,985 Bank of America Les Bois Challenge Championship at Les Bois Park.

Under jockey Cesar DeAlba, Vodka With Ice broke best then won handily while completing the 440 yard course in a quick :21.234 seconds, a 116 speed index. The $37,715 winner's purse swelled the Stoli 9-year-old's earnings to $418,673.

Leading trainer Monty Arrossa saddled the gelding to his 14th career win for owner Gerardo Prado. Michael Phol bred Vodka With Ice in Texas from the Extra Easy mare Hips So Fine. His record stands at (54) 14-9-5.

Margaritas N Coronas put in a solid effort under jockey Berkley Packer to finish second for owner Robert Hickman. Bret Vickery conditions the Corona Czech 4-year-old out of Fly Margarita, by Strawfly Special. Gregory and Renee Hickman bred the multiple stakes winner in Washington. Margaritas N Coronas earned $16,398.

Fastest qualifier Pf Flyair took a wide path from the 10 hole under jockey Jordon Hadley to end up in the show spot. Susan Hadley saddled the Dashair gelding for owner/breeder Tony Greaves. The Utah-bred is from the Pretty Boy Perry mare Pretty N Famous. He picked up $8,199 for the effort.

Lil Bitts A Dash, Dewey Cox, Jr Dynasty Mountain, Kr Streakin Version, Sw Count On Me and Ill Be A Dasher completed the field.
