Jesse In Town Wins First Running of Bienvenido De Nuevo Bonus Challenge

HIALEAH, FL—DECEMBER 10, 2011—Mary Passmore's Jesse In Town scored his second straight stakes victory Saturday afternoon as the much-anticipated third season of Quarter Horse racing got underway at Hialeah Park near Miami.

In the (for three-year-olds and up enrolled in the Bank of America Racing Challenge), Jesse In Town (8-1) scored a narrow victory over Steakin Magic for trainer Jackie Kirby and jockey Cody Rodger Smith.

The four-year-old sorrel Feature Mr Jess gelding won for the sixth time in 27 lifetime starts and covered 350 yards in 17.433. He came into the race off a win in the Cherokee Challenge Stakes at Will Rogers Downs on October 22nd.

Bred in Arkansas by Charles and Sharon Gray from the Takin On The Cash mare Whatsthatfillysname, Jesse In Town has earned more than $81,000, after pocketing $13,500 for Saturday's victory.

Streakin Magic finished second for Double J Racing, Inc. Saddled by Humberto De La Cruz, the Fly Jess Fly 4-year-old earned $4,500. Yordanis Amaro was up.

Michael Teel's homebred Streakin Rare was a half-length back in third to earn $2,475. The Fredricksburg filly is conditioned by Charlton Hunt and ridden by Mike Frederick.

Completing the field were Gallant Corona, Believers Gathering, Swingin Daddyo, Tre Boss, The Vig, Jessgonnafly and Freedysonahotstreak.
