Tisa Easy Eye Opener Takes Bosen Futurity Wire-to-Wire

IDAHO FALLS, ID—AUGUST 28, 2010—Andy and Mary Atkinson's Tisa Easy Eye Opener broke his maiden while taking the $51,000 Bosen Futurity(R) at Sandy Downs Saturday afternoon.

The Phoebes Cartel gelding has been solid in almost every start this season finishing second or third in four of his five previous starts. He was the second fastest qualifier by a nose in the August 13th trials.

Ridden by Wes Smith, Tisa Easy Eye Opener covered the 350 yards in :18.043 seconds to pick up the winner's purse of $20,400 while winning the futurity by 1/2 length.

Robert Phillip Smith saddled the sorrel gelding bred by Bosen Land & Livestock from the Easy First Down mare Miss Easy Toltack.

Royal Rumbo put in a solid effort for owner Linda Preece to finish second while earning $10,200. Robert Smith trains the Appaloosa gelding by The Royal Jester. Paul Green was aboard.

Preece and Smith also teamed as owner/trainer to finish third a neck back with Corona Light. Ridden by Justin Hollingsworth, the Phoebes Cartel Appaloosa filly earned $5,100 for her the effort.

Completing the Bosen field were fastest qualifier Eyegoeasy, Rare Lane, Proud Troubadour, Ap Kelly Cartel, Loukie Monster and Pebbles On The Beach. First Te Fame was scratched.

Bug Tussel Holds on Bosen Derby Final

Kevin Allred's Bug Tussel broke on top and held off Eyesa Lane to win the $13,171 Bosen Derby on Saturday afternoon.

Reed Nelson trains the Eyesastrawfly home-bred filly out of Flew Bayou Baby, by Easy Rambo. Under jockey Dallas Erickson the brown filly completed the 400 yards in :20.268 seconds to earn $5,488.

Racing for Grant Pendleton, Eyesa Lane had to settle for second after getting out nodded at the wire. The gelding also sired by Eyesastrawfly was ridden by Paul Greene and picked up $2,744 for the effort. Casey Green trains.

Finishing a half-length back in third was John Fisher's Jf Dashette. Another filly by Eyesastrawfly, she is trained by Ted Fisher and was ridden by Justin Hollingsworth. The sorrel miss earned $1,372 for the effort.

Completing the derby field were Kristen Chick, Open For Cash, Straw Fly Pie and Eyes A Trouble. Lil Bit Gone was scratched.
