First Crop Sire PYC Paint Your Wagon Scores With Royal Shake Em Winner

MISSION, TX—FEBRUARY 7, 2010—First crop sire PYC Paint Your Wagon got his stud career off to a big start on Sunday when his 2-year-old colt, Catch This Wagon, picked up an unofficial stakes victory in the $67,650 Royal Shake Em Futurity at Las Palmas Downs.

Racing for Five Brothers Partnership, Catch This Wagon completed the 250 yard course into a 25 mph head wind in :13.634 seconds. Jorge Barrera saddled the winner who was ridden by Jorge Linares.

Michael Pohl bred the brown colt in Texas out of the Strawfly Special mare To Catch A Fly. Catch This Wagon picked up $30,442.50 for the effort.

El Valle Racing Stables' Chalinashake earned $13,530 for finishing second. Rodrigo Vallejo rode the daughter by Moon Shake.

A nose back in third was Shelly Amaya's Zevis Red Warrior. Saddled by Rocky Ramirez and ridden by Manuel Garcia, he earned $10,147.

Completing the field were Aritas, a colt by first crop sire Mighty Invictus, and Jessica Lane, a filly by Separatist.

Fastest qualifier Three Times Even, a filly by Tr Dasher, was scratched and earned $4.059. She was purchased by David and Susan Mackie of Houston, Texas after posting the fastest qualifying time from 13 trials contested on January 24th.

Ocean Diamonds Dash Wins Juvenile

Ocean Diamond Dash pulled off a head victory in the $8,425 Royal Shake Em Juvenile on Sunday afternoon at Las Palmas Downs.

Racing for El Valle Racing Stables, the Ocean Runaway colt out of Dolce Dash, by The Signature completed the 250 yard course in :13.579. Ridden by Cipriano Vidana, the brown colt earned $3,791.

Cuadra El Gallo's Ttt Kellys Winner earned $1,685 for her second place effort. The daughter of Second Down Kelly was piloted by Alfonso Hernandez.

A length back in third was Five Brothers Partnership's Bv Melazoom. Saddled by Jorge Barrera and ridden by Jorge Linares, the Azoom filly earned $1,263.

Completing the field were Stolen Pass, a filly by Stoli, and Panchita Shake, a daughter of Moon Shake.

Walking Out, a colt by Walk Thru Fire, was scratched and received last place money.
