L Rayo Fastest In Last Training Races of Season at Retama Park Wednesday

SELMA, TX–APRIL 3, 2024–L Rayo, a colt by third-crop sire Patriotic Games, posted the fastest schooling race time on Wednesday (Apr 3) when Retama Park hosted the last of 12 schooling racings for 2-year-olds this year.

Conditioned by Jorge Barrera and racing for owner Rigoberto Reyna, L Rayo clocked :13.76 seconds over the 250 yards in Race 11. Jockey Luis Vivanco had the riding call on the first foal out of the Dolce La Jolla mare Wideyed Lajolla.  

Glen Wilkinson bred the gray colt in Texas. This is the family of All American Futurity(G1) runner-up Go For Bugs.

Pilotos Dynasty, a colt by All American Futurity(G1) winner Mr Piloto, finished second to L Rayo to get the second fastest clocking of :13.80 seconds. Francisco Campos, Jr. trains the $8,500 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate for owner Jorge Erik Rubio.

Bred by Steve Duhon, Pilotos Dynasty, is the this first foal from the FDD Dynasty mare Austin Chic. The second dam is stakes winner and stakes producer Austiana, by Streakin La Jolla. This is the family of champions Stylish Jess Br, Separate Fire and Flash And Roll.

Trainer Toby Keeton led all trainers with five winners today. Hawkeye was the only sire getting two winners with Ghost Power in Race 1 and Morthanmeetsthe Eye in Race 3.
