$385,000 Ruidoso Yearling Sale Graduate Posts Top Mark In Retama Park Training Races Wednesday

SELMA, TX–MARCH 27, 2024–Just Dulce, a $380,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, racing for owner Just Duce Partnership, posted the fastest training race time from 89 2-year-olds who debuted 15 training races at Retama Park today.

Trainer Mark Jungers named Jockey Christian Ramos to ride the Jess Good Candy colt  from post position 4. The sorrel colt clocked 13.69 seconds for 250 yards t secure the fastest time on the day.

Bred by Bob and Jerry Gaston, Just Dulce is a brother to two-time AQHA Racing champion Dulce Sin Tacha. He is by champion/champion sire Jess Good Candy from the Tempting Dash mare Prissy Sin Tacha.

Jungers and Ramos joined forces again in Race 12 to get the second fastest clocking with Lethal Cowboy 123. Racing for Caliche Wall Venter / Allen, the son of leading second-crop sire Flying Cowboy 123 stopped the timer in 13.71 seconds.

Bred by Veronica Gail Kawananakoa, Lethal Cowboy 123 sold for $150,000 under the name Idtaketwoifiwasyou in the 2023 Los Alamitos Equine Sale. Out of the First Down Dash mare Pretty Lethal, the colt is a half-brother to three black type. The second dam, Grade 1 winner Lethal Delight is the dam of All American Futurity(G1) winner JM Miracle.

Leading trainer Toby Keeton saddled seven winners on the training card while Jungers had four.

Flying Cowboy 123 led all sires with three winners, Jess Good Candy had two.  First-crop sire Chilitos had one winner.
