Sixth Consecutive Win For Separate Butallright Who Set A NTR In The BOCO Overnight Stakes

LEXINGTON, KY– MARCH 26, 2024–Separate Butallright dominates the field of nine in the $47,000 BOCO Overnight Stakes for her second win this season at Sandy Ridge at the Red Mile on Tuesday afternoon.

Ridden by Bryan Candanosa, Separate Butallright broke the 300-yard track record of :15.662 by clocking a 96 speed index in :15.425 seconds. The daughter of Separatist lead the pack from wire-to-wire finishing a good 1 and 3/4-lengths ahead of Paige. The post-time favorite’s victory paid $3.52 to win on 1/2 odds.

Trained by Samuel Valdivia, Separate Butallright has lit the board seven out of eight starts and hasn’t lost a race in her last six outs. The BOCO Stakes is the second stakes win for the three-year-old filly, including the Speedhorse Futurity [G3] last year. The $27,000 winner’s share of the purse increased Separate Butallright’s earnings to $129,134.

Breeder Cavanaugh Quarter Horses sold Separate Butallright for $15,000 in the 2022 Heritage Place Yearling Sale to her current owner Raul del Fierro Licon. The Oklahoma-bred filly is out of the First Down Dash mare Alltherightcurves, who is a half-sister to four-time champion Catchmeinyourdreams.

Runner-up Paige, ridden by Jorge Torres was second by 3/4-length over Hh C J Shake. The four-year-old filly has three wins with $129,951 in the bank. Clinton Crawford conditions the five-time stakes finalist.

Paige is a $38,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate. She was bred by Carol Smith in Oklahoma out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Transaxle. The daughter of Tempting Dash is owned by CNN Breeding.

Hh C J Shake placed third under the guidance of Aron Hunt. The son of Escondido Beach has lit the board 25 of 35 starts with 10 career wins and $437,879 in earnings.

Breeders Larry Carter and John Myers of Indiana also own Hh C J Shake in partnership with Bell and Rusty Hawkins. The five-time stakes winner is out of Shakem Jake by Royal Shake Em and trained by Shawna Martin.

Isa Super Freak, Hallmark, Five Bar Jess Cartel, Im Passing B, Goodtimefreddash and Its The Whiskey round out the order of finish.
