OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 9, 2024–The second day of trials to the $502,385 Oklahoma Futurity [G2] were underway Saturday at Remington Park. The weather was clear on a fast track with barely a tail wind for most of the evening.

Five horses made it back to the finals from a total of 72 freshman contenders.

Ihearthetrainarollin, ridden by Jesus Olivas, set the time to beat with a late win by a head in trial #2 over Ajk Viejo Titan. The daughter of world champion sire Freighttrain B clocked an 88 speed index in :15.542 seconds for the upset. The 300-yard victory paid $35.00 on 16/1 odds.

Owner Javier Orozco bought Ihearthetrainarollin for $25,000 in last year's TQHA Yearling Sale. She was conditioned by trainer Juvenal Licona Vazquez in her first official start, earning $5,784.

Gary Aber bred the bay filly in Texas out the Corona Cartel mare Beautiful Corona, who's dam is champion Brenda Beautiful, half-sister to two-time champion Noconi. Ihearthetrainarollin is from the family of AQHA Dam of Distinction My Dashing Lady, half-sister to the dam of two-time champion Ketel Won.

Miss Perrys Cowgirl won the last trial of the night going full throttle under jockey Mario Delgado by 1 1/2-lengths. The slight upset resulted in the second fastest time of :15.556 seconds and paid $23.00 to win on 10/1 odds.

Trained by Cody Noel, the daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 now has $5,784 in the bank from her first start and on her way to winning more.

Breeder Flag Ranch LLC sold Miss Perrys Cowgirl for $150,000 to her current owner Reliance Ranches LLC in the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The Oklahoma-bred filly is out of the stakes placed Tres Seis mare Miss Perrys Tres and from the family of champions Alice K White and Astica.

Ajk Viejo Titan, with Rolando Raudales in the irons, lead the field from first call but was nipped at the wire by Ihearthetrainaroll. That didn’t keep him out of the finals though, the son of Kiss My Hocks clocked the third fastest time from the trials in :15.571 seconds for an 87 speed index.

Alma Chavez bred Ak Viejo Titan in Indiana out of Fetching Beauty by No Secrets Here. The brown colt is owned by Jose Chavez and trained by Sacramento Chavez.
