Queen for Cash Wins Fifth Straight Race in $15,800 Sequoyah Stakes at Will Rogers

Queen for Cash Wins Fifth Straight Race in $15,800 Sequoyah Stakes at Will Rogers

CLAREMORE, OK–OCTOBER 22, 2023–Queen for Cash ran away from the field in the $15,800 Sequoyah Stakes(G3) to start the Sunday afternoon card at Will Rogers. The heavy favorite stretched an early lead into a 10-length victory in the 870-yard event for Paints and Appaloosas.

Queen for Cash ($2.10), with Roman Cruz up, finished in :46.019 and earned a 93 speed index.

Jesus Ruiz trains the 5-year-old Appaloosa mare for owner and breeder Gary Vaughn. The daughter of Hes Relentless was bred in Oklahoma out of the Ivory James mare Ivory Queen.

Queen for Cash extended her win streak to five with Sunday’s victory, all stakes, and she is 13 for 26 lifetime. She has earned $171,103.

My Cousin Vinny and Andrew Samaniego finished in second place, two lengths ahead of Secrets Livewire and Cordarleton Benn.

My Cousin Vinny is a 3-year-old Paint gelding trained by Jesus Ruiz. Vickie McBee owns and bred the son of Barracuda in Oklahoma out of the Pine Bluff mare Approved Bluff.

Sunday was the first stakes start for My Cousin Vinny and his first time finishing in the money in four career starts.

Shirley Kelly’s Oklahoma homebred Secrets Livewire is trained by Gary Walker. The 5-year-old Paint gelding is by Crm Livewire and is out of the Real Easy Cash mare Real Easy Secret.

Secrets Livewire has four wins from 27 starts with earnings of $39,710.

Dowah Diddy Diddy, Mighty Furrgee and Rowdy Livewire completed the field.
