BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 24, 2023–Multiple stakes winner Jess Dash Fast drove to a half-length win in the $25,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes Friday afternoon at Louisiana Downs.

Making her second start of the 2023, under jockey Jorge Garcia, Jess Dash Fast defeated post-time favorite San Lorenzo Dash by half-a-length will completing the 330 yards in :16.742 seconds, a 101 speed index into a 22 mph headwind.

Trainer Roberto Madrigal saddled the daughter of former leading sire Heza Fast Dash to her fourth career win for owner Juan Montoya. Bred by Jumonville Farms and Burnett Ranch, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Eyejesslovelouisiana, she boosted her bankroll to $152,342 after pocketing $15,000 for the win.

"She ran a really good race," said Montoya. "San Lorenzo Dash beat us last time, and we were thinking about breeding our mare, but felt that she could handle the distance in this stakes. She's as sound as she can be, so if she comes out of this okay, she will run next at Delta Downs."
