Gf Wild Thoughts (#2) helds off Skirts Jess Flying (#5) to set the fastest time for the StallioneSearch.com Claimers Cup Dash (not black type) at Long Star Park Friday night.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 11, 2022—Gf Wild Thoughts, under jockey Francisco Ramirez, Jr., raced to a neck win in the second of two trials at Lone Star Park on Friday night setting the fastest qualifying time for the StallioneSearch.com Claimers Cup Dash (not black type).

The 12 qualifiers will return on Saturday, December 17th to vie for the winner's share of a $50,000-est. purse going 110 yards. Conditions to nominate to the Claimers Cup Dash were 3-year-old up horses which have started for a claiming price of $7,500 or less in 2022.

Racing as the post time favorite, for owner-breeder Evelia Garcia, Gf Wild Thoughts completed the 110 yards in 06:901 seconds, with a 15 mph tailwind on a sloppy (sealed) racetrack to set the fastest qualifying time.

Trainer Roberto G. Madrigal conditions the 3-year-old Louisiana-bred daughter of Mr Ease Cartel from the Make It Anywhere mare Gigi Make It Right. The bay filly has compiled a 3-2-0 record in eight career starts, all for a tag, and earned $21,152.

Coronado Mystico was much the best in the opening trial, under jockey Francisco Calderon, to win by three-quarters while securing the second fastest time of :06.945 seconds, also with a 15 mph tailwind on a sloppy (sealed) racetrack.

It was the second career win for the Texas-bred son of Coronado Cartel owned by Leviram Racing, LLC and trained by Martin Rodriguez. Juan Lazano bred the gelding out of Traffic Juana by Dash Thru Traffic. Coronado Mystico has earned $16,170.
