Tachas Secret Scores A Victory In The Miss Roxie Little Consolation

SHELBYVILLE, IN–OCTOBER 29, 2022–Fernando Morin guides Tachas Secret to a 3/4-length victory in the $30,000 Miss Roxie Little Consolation Stakes (not black type) at Horseshoe Indianaplis on Saturday.

Breaking from the nine hole in fourth place, Tachas Secret drew back to seventh against a 5 mph crosswind by the first stretch. The daughter of Habits Secret mustered up her energy and rolled in late for a 3/4-length in :17.913 seconds clocking a 91 speed index. The 350-yard victory paid $8.80 to win. 

Key Stone, piloted by Juan Marquez popped from the gates in first and kept the lead through the second stretch but was out finished by Tachas Secret, placing second a 1/2-length ahead of Pandemic Beach and Francisco Quintero.

Tachas Secret broke her maiden in her second out in August. She scored her second win from five starts tonight in the Miss Roxie Little Consolation upping her career earnings to $31,300. Owned, trained and bred by Ricardo Martinez, the Indiana bred filly is out of Sin Tachas Angel by Pyc Paint Your Wagon.

Runner-up Key Stone has yet to break his maiden but has lit the board three of six starts earning $12,500 in his freshman campaign. 

Trainer Randy Smith saddled the son of Brimmstone for his owner Keith Bode. Bred by Sheri Miller of Indiana, Key Stone is out of Beach Bride by Escondido Beach.

Pandemic Beach broke his maiden in his first out in May  Four starts later, the son of Escondido Beach places third in the Mis Roxie Little Consolation Stakes increasing his total earnings to $16,930.

Breeder Mary Ellen Dandrow sold Pandemic Beach for $15,500 in last year’s QHRAI Select Stallions Sale to his trainer Anthony Cunningham, who later sold him to his current owner Robert Ray. The Indiana bred gelding is out of Brimms Fairy Tale by Brimmerton.

Completing the order of finish is We B Flyin, Flashin Five Bar, Rb Ec Mystery Zoom, Tw Triffly Volcom, Jess Sir E Bob, Sum Beach Sum Were and Kinmaker Ivory.
