MILES CITY, MT—MAY 22, 2022—Baby I Du “did it” as the second choice betting favorite on Sunday when he defeated Whooz Ya Daddy in the $30,000 BHS Quarter Horse Futurity Sunday afternoon at Mile City.

Baby I Du closed fast under jockey Shaunda Larsen to complete the 250 yards in :13.826 seconds into a 5 mph crosswind, collecting the winner’s payday worth $15,000.

Trainer Jess Matt saddled the Oklahoma-bred son of Duponte for owners Daisy Carlson and Joe Goggins. The $18,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate was bred by Flag Ranch LLC from the One Famous Eagle mare Lil Baby Eagle.

Whooz Ya Daddy picked up $6,900 for her second-place effort. Freddy Olmos trains the Utah-bred daughter of Big Daddy Cartel for owners Cody Allred and Keller Livestock. The gray filly, bred by Allreds Horse Haven, is out of Shi D Anna by Proudest Effort. Placed twice in two starts Whooz Ya Daddy has earned $7,450.

Gerald Kaul’s Wyoming homebred Yo Fifty Hot Rod finished a neck back to earn $3,900 for third. Jesse Villegas trains the FIftyshadezofgrey gelding out of Tanqery Dash by Brindis Por Cayenne. Ridden by Shance Birdrattler, Yo Fifty Hot Rod has one win and one third in two starts with earnings of $5,275.

Lil Shameless, Pablito and Docs Follies completed thee field. Cartels Chick and Sixs Cb Axel were both scratched.
