AURORA, CO—SEPTEMBER 16, 2021—Do You Do For Zoomin won the opening trial and Ramacin Ranger won the second of three trials today (Thursday), tying for the fastest qualifying time of :20.092 seconds for the $75,000-est. Mile High Derby at Arapahoe Park.
The 10 fastest qualifiers, from three trial races, will return to the Colorado racetrack on Saturday, October 2nd to vie for the winner's share of the purse going 400 yards.
Do You Do For Zoomin, under jockey Valente Vorrath, picked up her second consecutive win at Arapahoe Park by defeating Indeed by a neck in the first trial. Her time equaled a 91 speed index with 5 mph tailwind. Trainer Jose Chavez conditions the daughter of champion sire Zoomin For Bux for owner Jose Castaneda.
Ramacin Ranger bumped at the start under jockey Ramiro Garcia but managed a half-length win over Chicks Tale All in the second trial to tie for fastest time, also a 91 speed but with no wind. Hipolito Michel-Valverde is the owner-trainer of the Oklahoma-bred son of the #5 second-crop sire EC Jet One.
It was the first win in nine starts for the bay gelding who was a finalist in the Mile High Futurity and the Rocky Mountain Futurity last year. Bollenbach Farms LP bred the $11,015 earner from the Hot As Hell mare Hot As Diamonds.
Both the aforementioned Indeed and Chicks Tale All, runner-up's in the first two trials, posted the third and fourth fastest times respectively. They are both Oklahoma-breds, by third-crop sire Wagon Tales and are trained by Jose Chavez.

Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Colorado, began its 32-day live race meet on August 11. Friday (Aug 13) 7-race race card will include two trials (Race 1 and 2) for the Lucille Rowe Derby for accredited Colorado-bred 3-year-olds. First post is noon (MDT).
