Maximo II 'Much The Best' in Rupert Downs Overnight Futurity

RUPERT, ID—JULY 14, 2019—Bouncing off a sixth-place effort in the $91,256 Bitterroot Futurity on July 4th Maximo II was much the best today when he defeated Sign Of Turbulence by 1-˝ lengths in the $3,100 Rupert Downs Overnight Futurity (not black type) at Minidoka Fair.

Ridden by jockey Eric Ayala, Maximo II completed the 300 yard task in :15.605 seconds, equaling a 97 speed index into a 7 mph crosswind. It was the second win in three starts for the son of Concorde's Appeal (TB) and the $1,860 winners' purse increased his 2019 earnings to over $7,000.

Owned-and-trained by Uriel Arreola, the bay gelding was bred in Idaho by Vicente Treyes Valencia. He is out of the Bono Jazz mare Race To Riches.

Larry and Joyce Mower's Utah home-bred Sign Of Turbulence earned $750 for finishing second. Owen Udy trains the gelded son of Turbulent Times from the Vita Sign mare Sheza Signature. Todd Thomas was up.

Sister Carol, a Utah-bred daughter of Class Jump, racing for owners Scott and Sherry Erickson finished a nose back in third to pick up $490.Wesley Erickson trains the bay filly and Dallas Erickson getting the riding assignment. Ben McKinney bred Sister Carol from the thoroughbred mare My Sister Laureen by Freespool.

Shidacious, Df Mr Corona and Daddys Big Day completed the field.
