Vf Jedi Returns With Impressive OHA Mystery Futurity Trial Win Sunday

CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 28, 2018—Making his second start since an off-the-board performance in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity on June 2, Vf Jedi Returns posted an impressive 1-¾ length win on Sunday to get the fastest qualifying time for the Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Futurity(RG3) at Will Rogers Downs.

The 10 fastest Oklahoma state-bred 2-year-olds, from seven trials featuring 78 participants, will return to Will Rogers Downs on Saturday, November 10th to vie for the winner's share of $216,812 purse going 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Jose Vega, Vf Jedi Returns popped from the gate quickly then widened his lead while completing the 350 yards in :17.422 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind.

Trainer Samuel E. Valdivia saddled the son of a leading third-crop sire High Rate Of Return for owner Julio Contreras. Bred in Oklahoma by Victory Farms, from the Corona Cartel mare Corona Couture, Vf Jedi Returns has compiled a (7) 5-1-0 record and banked $91,749 this season. He was also second in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Juvenile Stakes.

Another 2-year-old making his first start since the Remington Park meet was Hr Desirable, a 1-½ length winner in the second trial to get the second fastest time of :17.510 seconds, a 97 speed index.

R.L. Rick Robinson saddled the son of champion sire Desirio for owners Kathy Robinson, John Yamaguchi and Eric Sierra. Bred in Oklahoma by Bobby and Vickie Hammer, Hr Desirable has won three of five starts and earned $27,684. One of two qualifiers ridden by jockey Agustin Silva, the bay gelding is out of Scentsy by Ivory James.

My Take, a daughter of leading first-crop sire Coronado Cartel, posted the most impressive trial win under jockey Mario Delgado. The sorrel filly rolled to a two-length win in the opening trial (race 2) to get the third fastest clocking of :17.536 seconds, a 96 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind.

Eddie Lee Willis conditions the Oklahoma homebred for owner-breeders' Judd and Mildred Morse. Out of the Apollo (TB) mare Dancing Iam, My Take broke her maiden in her last start, September 15th at Will Rogers Downs.

Mighty B Valiant was the only sire with multiple qualifiers, getting 4th fastest Sr Shegone and 9th fastest Might B Magic.
