Night Fishin Catches Ontario Sires Maturity Win on Sunday

AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 2, 2018—Night Fishn, under jockey Corrine Andros, got a clean start, then oppressed form the outside before getting up at the wire by a head over Fiesty Icon in Sunday's $43,861(US) Ontario Sires Maturity at Ajax Downs. Albertt finished a neck back in the blanket-finish to get third.

Conditioned by Greg Watson, Night Fishin completed the 330 yards in :16.690 seconds, equaling a 101-speed index with a 26 mph tailwind. The start was good for all over the fast track conditions.

A homebred racing for owner/breeder March Schrama, the lightly raced 4-year-old daughter of Sugarman Perry scored a win in her first career stakes appearance.

Out of the Fishers Dash mare Fisher Lines, Night Fishin has compiled a (7) 4-1-1 record and today's Maturity winners' purse of $17,722(US) doubled her earnings record to $$35,812.

Multiple stakes winner Fiesty Icon picked up $8,861(US) for finishing second. Owned-and-trained by Richard Kennedy, the son of Sugarman Perry has compiled a (30) 12-6-2 record while banking $175,9621. Jockey Tony Phillips had the riding call aboard the Picov Cattle Co bred from the Special Effort mare Fiesty Spirit.

Multiple stakes-placed Albertt earned $4,431(US) for finishing third. Bred, owned-and-trained by Scott Reid the Mr Jess Tex 5-year-old was ridden by jockey Cassandra Jeschke. A seven-time winner, Albertt has earned nearly $70,000. He is our of the Mr Eye Opener mare Squincheyes.

Ice Witch, Ghost Pines, Sugarmans Delight, Home To Vegas, Ice N Snow and Sweet Pagrana completed the field.
