LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JULY 7, 2018—Vincent Treyes' Duck Dash N Go has shown in previous starts that she's mighty tough when she draws post number one. In the running of the Grade 3, $20,000 Independence Day Handicap on Saturday night, the 4-year-old mare by Corona Fast Dash proved once again that she's unbeatable from the rail after beating four other top rivals in the 300-yard dash at Los Alamitos.

Bred by Bobby Cox in Oklahoma, Duck Dash N Go is now a perfect three for three when drawing the inside post position and each of her wins have come against big time foes. The Oklahoma-bred won her trial to the PCQHRA Breeders Derby on September 16 in her first ever start from post one. In her second start from that spot, she won the Rebs Little Lulu Handicap on October 27 and now she's done it again from the first post after scoring a wire-to-wire victory.

"This mare has a huge heart. She's a little filly in stature, but she's all heart," trainer Monty Arrossa said. "She likes to win races. This is her 11th win in 21 starts. She does like the rail and in fact she draws it a lot. Owner Vincent Treyes said, 'I got my (post).' "

Ridden by Eduardo Nicasio, Duck Dash N Go covered the distance in :15.329 while outdueling Kaweah Bar Handicap winner Royaltys Authority by a neck. Her next start figures to be the Merial California Distaff Challenge to be held here on August 12. Until then, Duck Dash N Go will continue to be the 'pet' in Arrossa's barn.

"She's really quiet," the trainer added. "In the paddock tonight she was so quiet and in the post parade she was just walking. That's her demeanor. She's quiet in the barn and she's just happy. She likes to train at the racetrack, but she's really easy to get along with. A little kid could lead her and take care of her."

Duck Dash N Go, who also won the A Ransom Handicap here on December 8, earned $11,000 to take her career earnings to $85,892. She's now hit the board in 9 of her last 12 starts.

S&S Horses' Royaltys Authority, who entered the Independence Day on a three-race win streak, earned $4,500 for his second place finish. Trained by Roman Figueroa and ridden by Ruben Lozano, the gelding by Royaltys Choice now figures to make his next start in the Spencer Childers California Breeders Championship Handicap on July 28.
