Carter Wins Four Including Feature On Send Me A Candy Tree

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 17, 2014—Send Me A Candy Tree rebounded off a third-place run in the Decketta Stakes at Remington Park in late March, scoring in a $28,900 allowance on Thursday night by a widening 1-˝ lengths.

Owned and bred by Carl Pevehouse of Ratliff City, Okla. and trained by Clint Crawford, Send Me A Candy Tree was ridden by G.R. Carter. The win gave Carter his fourth score of the night. Send Me A Candy Tree has now won three of her last four attempts, dating to September last year.

Send Me A Candy Tree hit the finish line of the 350-yard event in a quick :17.135 seconds over a fast track. Daltsguninforsuccess chased from the far outside but was no match for the winner, finishing a half-length better than CC Seis who was third.

A heavy wagering favorite at 3-5 odds, Send Me A Candy Tree paid $3.20 to win, $2.40 to place and $2.10 to show. Daltsguninforsuccess paid $3.80 to place and $2.40 to show. CC Seis returned $6 to show.

The win was the 12th from 21 career attempts for Send Me A Candy Tree, a 5-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by Oak Tree Special from the Leaving Memories mare Send Me The Candy. She won for the seventh time in 13 attempts at Remington Park and earned another $17,284. She now boasts lifetime money of $408,624.

Carter also won aboard the Big Ennis ($4.80 to win), an Appaloosa, in race three, Vod Kanockers ($12.40) in race five and Daring And Dashing ($4.40) in race 10. The riding quadruple gives Carter 26 wins for the season.

There was a change atop the jockey standings as Berkley Packer posted a three-win night to give him a total of 30 wins for the season. He won with Turning Tricks ($7), an Appaloosa, in race two to start his run. The triple continued with Fishin Corona ($8.40) and concluded with Select Opprotunity ($4.60) in the 12th and final race of the night.

Packer’s 30 wins leads Jimmy Brooks (27) by three and Carter (26) by four.
