Fastest Qualifier Y O Fifty Concert Returns To Win Mike Lipp Wyoming Stallion Breeders' Futurity

ROCK SPRINGS, WY–SEPTEMBER 2, 2023–Fastest qualifier Y O Fifty Concert returned today to defeat Honky Tonk by a nose in a blanket-finish to the $82,600 Mike Lipp Wyoming Stallion Breeders' Futurity at Sweetwater Downs. Moon Em N Dash was a neck back to take third.

Under jockey Shaunda Larsen, Y O Fifty Concerts dueled throughout to get the nod while completing the 300 yards in :15.387 seconds, equaling a 104-speed index into a 8 mph crosswind.

Trainer Alvaro Torress saddled the son of multiple stakes sire Fiftyshadezofgrey to his third win in five starts for owner-breeder Gerald F. Kaul.  The Wyoming-bred 2-year-old, from the Adashofess mare Concert Ticket, picked up $33,040 to increase his bankroll to $41,305. The bay gelding was second in the BHS Futurity at Miles City in May.

Runner-up Honky Tonk, under jockey Jesus Canales, also scored a 104-speed index and earned $16,250 for owner Claudio Eandujo. Sergio Canales trains the Salt Point Bay colt out of Jess Us by Fly Jess Fly. Bred by Raul and Luis Caballero, Honky Tony has earned $22,270 in five starts this year.

James and Stephanie Ferguson's Moon Em N Dash earned $8,260 for third. Also trained by Alvaro Torres, the Brindis Por Cayenne gelding was ridden by Uriel Dominguez. Walter Larsen bred the $13,218 earner from the Apollo (TB) mare Dashmetothemoon.

Vvr Dianas Angel, Billyboysacoastin, Tm Lets Go Brandon, Vvr Whata Monster, Mr Have A Corona D, Double Quick and Dd completed the field.
