Y O Fifty Concerts Fastest from Mike Lipp Wyoming Stallion Breeders Futurity Trials in Rock Springs

ROCK SPRINGS, WY–AUGUST 19, 2023–The Saturday card at Sweetwater Downs started with seven Mike Lipp Wyoming Stallion Breeders Futurity Trials, led by fastest qualifier Y O Fifty Concerts.

The $80,000-estimated final for 2-year-olds sired by participating stallions will be held on September 2, 2023.

Gerald Kahl’s Y O Fifty Concerts ($4.20) was the gate-to-wire winner of the fifth trial. His final time of :15.759 for 300 yards earned a 91 speed index.

Shaunda Larsen rode the post time favorite for trainer Alvaro Torres. Kaul also bred the Fiftyshadezofgrey gelding in Wyoming out of Concert Ticket, by Adashofjess.

Y O Fifty Concerts debuted in Miles City, where he broke his maiden as the fastest qualifier to the Bucking Horse Sale Futurity. He returned to finish second in the final. Prior to Saturday’s trial, he raced in a trial for the Wyoming Bred Futurity at Energy Downs. Y O Fifty Concerts is two for four with $8,265 earned.

Second fastest qualifier Honky Tonk won the fourth trial by a half-length in :15.778, earning a 90 speed index. Jesus Canales was in the irons for trainer Sergio Canales and owner Claudio Eandujo.

Honky Tonk ($4.00) won his second consecutive race in the trial and is two for four lifetime. The colt debuted in a Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity trial at Wyoming Downs and broke his maiden there in July.

Honky Tonk was bred in Wyoming by Raul and Luis Caballero, by Salt Point Bay and out of the Fly Jess Fly mare Jess Us.

The fast fifth trial also produced the third fastest qualifier, as Tm Lets Go Brandon finished second behind Y O Fifty Concerts in :15.841.

Tm Lets Go Brandon, with Jesus Virgen up, chased the winner and put a length between him and the rest of the field as the second betting choice. Kevin Williams owns and trains the Docs Fast Prize gelding, who has never finished worse than fourth in four career efforts.

Tm Quarterhorses bred Tm Lets Go Brandon in Wyoming out of Wow Another Form, by Form Ten Ninty.
