RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–AUGUST 13, 2023–The lightly raced Streaks Of Power made her second career win a big one on Sunday when the gray filly rolled to the fastest qualifying time for the Grade 1 $714,734 All American Oaks at Ruidoso Downs Race Track & Casino.
The 10 fastest qualifiers, from six trial races, will return to the Ruidoso Downs on Sunday, September 3 to vie for the winner's share of the purse valued at $300,188. Year-end honors for the top 3-Year-Old filly in nation could also be on the line.
Starting off a layoff, after finishing fifth in a troubled start in the Grade 1 $461,500 Los Alamitos Oaks on March 25, Streaks Of Power and champion jockey Francisco Calderon powered away from gate then cleared the field to win by two lengths while posting the top qualifying mark of :21.586 seconds into a 13 mph headwind.
Trainer Monty Arrossa saddled the daughter of multiple stakes sire Power Jam (TB) for owner-breeder Ken O'Brien. Bred in Louisiana from the Ivory James mare Streaks Of Ivory, Streaks Of Power qualified for the restricted Grade 2 Lassie Futurity in her career debut but did not run back in the final.

O'Brien elected to give the filly some time off and she officially broke her maiden while setting the fastest qualifying time for the Los Alamitos Oaks(G1) last March.
O'Brien who is also co-owner of Streaks Of Power's sire Power Jam (TB) said "It's been a big weekend for Power Jam. He got the fastest qualifier to the Grade 1 LQHBA Sale Futurity and the fastest qualifeir to the Grade 1 All American Oaks!"
"We gave 'Streaks' and our other filly Candys Special Power who was second in the Los Alamitos Oaks a layoff after Los Alamitos then waited all summer for the All American Oaks trials," he added. "Streaks Of Power has been my wife's (Nina) favorite from the start!"

Noe Garcia, Jr. had the riding call aboard the Jess Zoomin filly.
Trainer Marc Jungers saddled Jes An Angel to her 10th win in 16 starts for owners Brad Williams and Don Forbes. Bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, from the First Down Dash mare Ms Katies Angel, Jes An Angel was earned $399,737.
With wins that include the Southwest Juvenile Championship(G2) and the Black Gold Fillies Futurity, Jes An Angel was the fastest qualifier for the 2022 All American Futurity(G1) and a finalist in the Louisiana Downs Futurity(G3) and Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge(G3).
Cool Ya Jets, one of two supplements to the Oaks trials for $30,000, upset Rainbow Oaks(G1) winner Ezee Monee in the second race to record the third fastest time of :21.741 seconds into a 12 mph headwind. Jockey Francisco Calderon had the riding call for trainer John Stinebaugh and owner Pete Scarmardo.
The daughter of multiple stakes sire Jet Black Patriot was bred in Louisiana from the Heza Fast Dash mare McM On Thin Ice. The stakes winning filly bred by Bayou Stirling Equine LLC has earned $299,667. She won the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks in her previous start July 15.
Rainbow Oaks(G1) winner Ezee Monee held on to the fourth fastest clocking of :21.788 seconds. Trainer Jaime G. Aldavaz, Sr. named jockey Adrian Ramos to ride the daughter of One Fabulos Eagle for owner Isidoro Esparza.
Bobby D. Cox bred the brown filly in Texas from the Corona Cartel mare Cartel Regards. Ezee Monee has won five of 12 starts and earned $297,855.
