MEXICO CITY, MEX–JULY 18, 2026–Sunday's card at Hipódromo de las Américas in Mexico City will feature the XXVI Clásico Jodys Glory Trials, in which 12 two-year-old Quarter Horses will compete for a spot in the $46,775 Clásico Jodys Glory Final on Sunday, August 9. The 350-yard trials will be run in the first two races of the day, with the first post at 15:00. The 10 fastest qualifiers will advance to the championship final.

The second trial features the accomplished filly RG A Candy Girl, the 2-1 morning-line favorite. She enters in excellent form after winning the $46,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge by a nose, marking her second consecutive victory. Earlier this season, she finished fourth in The Prize Czech and has now earned more than $30,000 in her young career.

RG A Candy Girl is a daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon, out of the Tres Seis mare Send Tres Seis Candy. She was bred in the United States by PV Quarter Horse Farms, LLC, and sold for $36,000 at the 2025 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Racing for Rancho Las Gaviotas, she is trained by Alfredo Rabanal and will break from post one with Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo aboard.

The opening trial is headed by Already Favorite, who has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite. Although the colt has made only two career starts, he has already shown considerable talent. Earlier this year, he recorded the fastest qualifying time for The Prize Classic before finishing second in the final after breaking sharply, setting the pace, and being caught by just a neck.

Already Favorite is a son of Favorite Cartel, out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Shes Already Famous. He was bred in the United States by Grant Farms and sold for $30,000 at the 2025 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Owned by Cuadra Los Chivos, he is trained by Carlos Alberto Jose Perez and will start from post three with Alejandro Gomez in the saddle.

The two Clásico Jodys Glory trials headline a nine-race program as the next generation of Quarter Horse talent seeks a place in one of Mexico's premier juvenile events. With only 10 spots in the August 9 final, every stride will be crucial as these young runners compete for the chance to race for the $46,775 Clásico Jodys Glory title.
