OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 28, 2026–The final night of the Remington Park meet promises a spectacular sendoff as Oklahoma’s richest night of Quarter Horse racing takes center stage Saturday evening. A loaded twelve-race program featuring the nation’s top Quarter Horses, Paints, and Appaloosas will bring together championship contenders, rising stars, and fan favorites for an unforgettable night under the lights. With the first race at 5:00 PM, the stage is set for an evening of elite competition, dramatic finishes, and million-dollar moments.
While the Heritage Place Futurity headlines the evening, the undercard stakes lineup is stacked with talent from top to bottom, featuring some of the strongest Oklahoma-Bred runners and nationally recognized stakes horses of the meet. The night includes the $50,000 Remington Park Distance Championship Stakes at 870 yards; the $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes for Oklahoma-Bred three-year-olds at 350 yards; the $75,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes for Oklahoma-Bred juvenile fillies at 350 yards; the $75,000 Easy Jet Stakes for Oklahoma-Bred two-year-olds at 350 yards; the $75,000 Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes at 400 yards; and the Grade 1 $100,000 Junos Request Stakes for fillies and mares at 400 yards.
The third race on the card features the $50,000 Remington Park Distance Championship Stakes, with Handin Out Candy entering as the 9-5 morning-line favorite as he seeks his eighth consecutive victory and fourth straight win at Remington Park. Since shipping into Oklahoma, the talented distance specialist has become the horse to beat in the division. He captured his Remington Park Distance Challenge trial, returned to dominate the final, and followed that effort with another impressive victory in the Grade 2 Pauls Valley Stakes.
The seven-year-old gelding has now won twelve races and earned $354,190 for owner Emilio Perez, who bought him for just $20,000 at the 2020 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The son of Jess Good Candy, out of the Dash Ta Fame mare Ole Auntie Em, was bred in Alabama by Paris Wixon. Trainer Paul Sedillo will saddle the veteran runner from post three, with James A. Flores taking the mount while regular rider Omar Iturralde remains sidelined with injuries.
The fourth race features the $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes, with ten Oklahoma-Bred sophomores set to sprint 350 yards at approximately 6:24 PM. Coronados 123 has been named the 3-1 morning-line favorite after a strong third-place finish in the Grade 1 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby, where he missed by only a neck. The colt has won three races and earned $105,423.
The son of Flying Cowboy 123, out of the Coronado Cartel mare Coronados Lady, was bred and owned in Oklahoma by Angelica Gil. Trainer Hernesto Ramirez will send him out from post nine, with Mario Delgado aboard.
The fifth race shifts the focus to juvenile fillies in the $75,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes at 350 yards. A field of ten talented Oklahoma-Bred fillies is set to load at approximately 6:52 PM, led by the 7-2 morning-line favorite She Makes It Special.
The filly broke her maiden impressively in mid-April with a strong late rally, then finished third in her Heritage Place Futurity trial. Racing for owner Raymond A. Whitmire, she was a $185,000 purchase at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The daughter of Kiss My Hocks, out of the Ivory James mare Special Jamie, was bred in Oklahoma by Sam W. Green. Trainer Justin W. Joiner will saddle her from post three, with Mario Delgado retaining the mount.
The sixth race features Oklahoma-Bred colts and geldings in the $75,000 Easy Jet Stakes at 350 yards. Pyc Dollars Cowboy enters as the 5-2 morning-line favorite following a strong Remington Park campaign that included winning his Oklahoma Bred Futurity trial and finishing third in the Grade 1 final.
The talented gelding has earned $115,115 for owner Homero Hermilo Campa-Mireles, who bought him for $65,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The son of Flying Cowboy 123 out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Pyc Dollars was bred in Oklahoma by Matthew Eck. Trainer Ramon Mendoza prepares him to break from post four, with Sergio Becerra, Jr., flying in for the mount.
The seventh race features a competitive field of older Oklahoma-Breds in the $75,000 Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes at 400 yards. Hard to Politic has been installed as the 7-5 morning-line favorite after consistently facing top competition throughout the meet.
The four-year-old gelding opened his season with a head defeat in the Grade 2 Mighty Deck Stakes, then rebounded to win the Grade 2 Mr Jet Moore Stakes. He most recently competed in the Grade 1 Leo Stakes, where trouble at the start compromised his chances. The son of Apollitical Jess out of the Foose mare Hardtoget was bred in Oklahoma by Louis A. Malecheck III. Owner-trainer Samuel Mendoza will saddle him from post seven, with Juan Pulido aboard.
The eighth race features one of the strongest fields of fillies and mares assembled this meet in the Grade 1 $100,000 Junos Request Stakes at 400 yards. The talented four-year-old filly Cowgirls Can Fly enters the race off a strong season, having opened the meet with a dominant two-length victory in the Grade 2 Decketta Stakes and then finishing third in a blanket finish in the Grade 2 Easy Date Stakes.
The filly has now earned $205,154 and has six career victories for owners Shari Burger and Vickie McBee. Part-owner Shari Burger also bred the daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Meaningful Memories. Trainer Jason L. Olmstead will saddle her from post six, with Ramiro H. Garcia aboard.
As the evening progresses, anticipation builds toward the Grade 1 $1,158,940 Heritage Place Futurity, the richest race of the night and the grand finale of the Remington Park season. From elite stakes veterans to rising Oklahoma-Bred stars, Saturday’s undercard offers depth and quality befitting one of Quarter Horse racing’s premier nights.
With championship titles, lucrative purses, and unforgettable performances on the line, Remington Park is set to close its season with a spectacular celebration of the sport at its peak.
