MEXICO CITY, MEX–April 2, 2026
Sunday, April 5th at Hipódromo de las Américas will feature a ten-race program highlighted by the Prize Classic Trials and the $21,732 Easily A Possum Classic. The trials will showcase two-year-old Quarter Horses competing over 300 yards, with the ten fastest qualifiers advancing to the final on Sunday, April 26.

The fourth and fifth races will feature a group of twelve juveniles looking to secure their place in the final. Among them, Rg Queen Of Hearts enters as the 2-1 morning line favorite after posting two strong gate workouts, covering 220 yards in:12.80 and 12.71, showing sharp early speed heading into the trials.

The filly is sired by Favorite Cartel and out of Tallulah Moon by Corona Cartel. She was bred in Texas by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches, LP, and races for Rancho Las Gaviotas. Trainer Alfredo Rabanal Salinas will saddle her from the rail post with Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo aboard.

In the second trial heat, Already Favorite looks to make a strong impression after recording a bullet workout on March 19, covering 220 yards in:11.93, the fastest of thirty-four workers that day. In his previous work, he posted 12.37, ranking fifth of twenty-seven, reinforcing his consistent early speed.

The colt is also by Favorite Cartel and out of Shes Already Famous by Mr Jess Perry. He was bred in Louisiana by Grant Farms, LLC, and races for Los Chivos. Trainer Luis Eustasio Nieto Munoz will send him out from post six with J. E. Gonzalez in the saddle.

A competitive group of twelve juveniles will look to earn their place in the Prize Classic final, where early speed and a clean break will be key factors over the 300-yard distance.

The tenth and final race on the card will feature the $21,732 Easily A Possum Classic, a 350-yard event for three-year-olds. Talk Of The Bar enters as the 5-2 morning line favorite, with Dark Water Bay close behind at 3-1 odds.

Talk Of The Bar has been perfect in his career, winning all three of his starts as a two-year-old, including the Futurity Las Americas and the Juvenile Championship. He has earned $32,069 for owners Cuadra C R T, who purchased him for $9,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

The gelding is sired by This Is An Eagle and out of Five Bar Toast by Five Bar Cartel. Bred in Kansas by Mary G. Thompson, he will be saddled by Octavio Ivan Becerra Aguila and break from post two with Huberclein Gomez aboard.

Dark Water Bay returns looking for redemption after finishing second to Talk Of The Bar on two occasions. The accomplished gelding was named American Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding following victories in the Alfredo Castro Rea Classic, along with strong finishes in the The Prize Classic, John Deere Mexico Juvenile Challenge, and Campeonato Juvenil. He has earned $85,663 for his owners Cuadra Alpuyeca.

Sired by Mr Jess Perry and out of Aqua Girl by Corona Cartel, Dark Water Bay was bred in Oklahoma by Mike Vaughan. Trainer Antonio Garcia Carranza will saddle him from post three with regular rider Heriberto Camacho aboard.

A field of seven sophomores will line up in the Clásico Easily A Possum at approximately 19:00, closing out a competitive day of racing at Hipódromo de las Américas, where rising juveniles and proven three-year-olds will share the spotlight.
