CLAREMORE, OK–OCTOBER 24, 2025—Will Rogers Downs will feature a ten-race card Monday, highlighted by two trials promising top-level Oklahoma-bred Quarter Horse talent. The first three races will host twenty-five sophomore runners, each going 350 yards in pursuit of a berth in the $75,000-estimated Mystery Derby final.

Races four through ten will showcase sixty-four juveniles competing at 400 yards in the (RG3) $116,250-added Black Gold Championship Futurity trials for colts and geldings.

Trainer Jason L. Olmstead will have a strong hand in the Mystery Derby trials, including the talented filly Flying Bandida in the opening heat. The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 out of Meaningful Memories by Pyc Paint Your Wagon has been a model of consistency throughout her career, hitting the board in nearly every start.

She has earned qualifications to several major Derbies, including the Remington Park Oaks, the (G2) Heritage Place Oaks, the Prairie Meadows Gold Derby, and the Altoona Derby. Bred in Oklahoma by Shari A. Burger and owned in partnership with Vickie McBee, Flying Bandida has banked $161,142 to date and will break from post two under Ramiro Haro Garcia.

The final Derby trial will feature the accomplished Ima Fancy Eye Opener, a crowd favorite with an impressive résumé. The Im A Fancy Pyc gelding, out of Lil Miss Eye Opener, has collected multiple graded stakes victories, including the 2024 (G3) Easy Jet Stakes, (G3) Speedhorse Futurity, (G2) Mighty Deck Three Stakes, and (G3) Mr Master Bug Stakes.

Conditioned by Rhonda Valdivia for breeders Shania and Terry Dale Cox, Ima Fancy Eye Opener has earned $264,011 from eight wins and will start from post seven with Jose Vega aboard.

The twenty-six sophomores in these trials will be vying for one of the top ten qualifying times to secure a spot in the $75,000 Mystery Derby final, set for November 11th.

Attention then turns to the Black Gold Championship Futurity trials, beginning in race four and featuring a lineup of promising juveniles.

Ivory Macho Man stands out as a major contender in the opening trial. The homebred gelding, owned by Rito Sosa and trained by Jose E. Gamez, recently captured the (G2) Dash for Cash Futurity and has won four of five career starts, earning $205,854.

Sired by Kj Mucho Macho Man and out of Alondra Grace by Ivory James, he will start from post five with regular rider Juan Pulido in the irons.

Olmstead will again have a heavy presence in the juvenile trials, sending out twenty-two entrants, including Famous N Relentless in the seventh race. The Hes Relentless gelding, out of Tritoon by Tres Seis, has five victories from seven outings, including a win in the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes.

Bred and co-owned by Tom Maher alongside Amber Olmstead, Famous N Relentless has earned $99,549 and will break from the rail with Ramiro Haro Garcia up.

In total, sixty-four colts and geldings will battle across seven heats to advance to the (RG3) $116,250-added Black Gold Championship Futurity Finals, also scheduled for November 11th. With multiple graded stakes winners and rising stars set to compete, Monday’s card at Will Rogers Downs promises a thrilling preview of Oklahoma’s next generation of Quarter Horse champions.
