SHELBYVILLE, IN–October 3, 2025–An action-packed Saturday morning awaits fans and connections at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Two major trial series highlight the card, setting the stage for a full day of elite Quarter Horse racing. The program begins early at 10:45 a.m., with eleven races on tap—five trials for the Governor’s Stake and six heats for the Miss Roxie Little Futurity- contested over 400 yards.
The first five races feature 43 juveniles vying for a spot in the $125,000 Governor’s Stake Final, scheduled for October 25.
Among the standout names is Mr Booombastic, who headlines the opening heat. A consistent and talented colt, Mr Booombastic is a two-time winner, including a victory in the $34,000 Marli Hulman Stakes, and most recently placed third in the $30,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis Juvenile Challenge Stakes, with $31,700 in earnings.
The Oklahoma-bred son of Dulce Sin Tacha out of Dancing Iam (by Apollo [TB]) will look to make his mark from post four under jockey Martin Munoz. Ricardo Martinez trains him for owner Carlos Ramos, who purchased the colt for $22,000 from the Heritage Place Sale.
However, all eyes will turn to Race 2 for the morning’s marquee runner: Heza Hawkeye, the 8-5 morning line favorite. This ultra-consistent gelding boasts three wins from five starts, highlighted by a dominant score in the $172,000 Heartland Futurity. Though he finished off the board in the (RG3) QHRAI Futurity due to a troubled trip, he still commands respect with $120,873 in career earnings.
The Texas-bred son of Hawkeye out of Sheza Bugsy (by Azoom) is trained and ridden by German Rodriguez, representing Chavez Racing, LLC, who found a bargain in him at the TQHA Yearling Sale for just $8,500.
Only the ten fastest times from these five trial races will secure berths in the October 25 final, promising fierce competition from start to finish.
Following the Governor’s trials, attention shifts to the Miss Roxie Little Futurity Trials, where 52 talented Indiana-bred juveniles are entered across six heats. Like the Governor’s, only the ten fastest qualifiers will return on October 25 for the (RG3) $150,000 Miss Roxie Little Futurity Final.
One of the most anticipated runners of the afternoon is Rock N the Beach, a standout gelding set to go in Race 9. Installed as the heavy 2-5 morning line favorite, Rock N the Beach has never missed the board in four starts and exits a runner-up finish in the $196,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity.
By Escondido Beach and out of Pyc Fast Girls Rock (by Pyc Fast Prize), he’s campaigned by breeder Jeff Sheets and trained by leading conditioner Tim Eggleston. He breaks from the outside post nine with Rolando D. Pina aboard.
In the eleventh and final race, Cv Denali looks to remain undefeated and stamp her ticket to another big-money final. The impressive filly is already a stakes winner, capturing the $196,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity in just her second start.
Bred in Indiana by Sheri Miller, Cv Denali is sired by Escondido Beach out of Botticelli Shake (by Genuine Botticelli), and races for Campos Family Ventures, LLC. With Fernando Morin in the irons and Claudio Barraza calling the shots from the barn, she’s a force to be reckoned with from post two.
Saturday’s card at Horseshoe Indianapolis offers more than just morning racing—it presents a glimpse into the future of Quarter Horse racing, showcasing rising stars and proven stakes performers across two prestigious trial series.
With the first post at 10:45 AM, to catch all the high-stakes action leading to two of Indiana’s richest Quarter Horse races on October 25.
The Horseshoe Indianapolis races can be watched on Q-Racing Video.
