OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 31, 2025—Remington Park will host Oklahoma's richest horserace, the $1,161,010 Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity on Saturday, featuring a field of ten talented juveniles set to dash 350 yards.

Among the finalists, Jess A Good Angel and Effortless Favorite have been installed as the top two morning-line choices following sharp trial performances.

Trained by Christian Alcala and ridden by Juan Pulido, Jess A Good Angel enters the final off an impressive 1-1/4 length trial victory and is the morning-line favorite at 5-2. The Oklahoma-bred gelding races for Alcala Ranch LLC and was bred by Cristian Leonardo Alcala.

Jess A Good Angel is by champion Jess Good Candy, the 2015 All American Futurity (G1) winner, and out of the PycHH Paint Your Wagon mare Sin Tachas Angel. He was not offered at public auction, making him a homebred prospect with a strong combination of early speed and breeding upside.

His only other start was an off the board finish in a troubled performance in his career debut, a trial for the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity in April. He will start off the inside rail (post 1).

A close second choice on the morning line is Effortless Favorite, trained by multiple Grade 1-winning conditioner Jason Olmstead and set to be piloted by Francisco R. Ramirez, Jr. The colt is owned by the partnership of Tom Maher, Dick Tobin, and Bill Maher.

Effortless Favorite was bred in Oklahoma by Wallace Johnson and is by leading sire Favorite Cartel, out of the Corona Cartel mare Swingin Cartel. He sold for $67,000 at the 2024 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale, marking him as one of the higher-priced juveniles to qualify for the final.

Effortless Favorite delivered a dominant effort in his trial heat, showcasing a quick break and professional finish to stop the clock among the fastest of the day. A perfect 2-for-2, he adds depth to an already formidable lineup for Olmstead, who has enjoyed consistent success at Remington Park and major futurities across the region.
