SHELBYVILLE, IN—MAY 28, 2025—Three stakes races are set for Saturday, May 31 at Horseshoe Indianapolis, headlined by the $100,500 Harley Greene Derby Final. The evening’s card will also feature the $30,000-added Maiden Stakes Final and the $82,600 Born Runner Classic.


Ninth Race: Maiden Stakes Final – $ 30,000 Added – 350 Yards

Morning line favorite Celtic Cartel (9-5) headlines the field after winning his May 12 trial by half a length. The gelding, by leading sire Corona Cartel out of Celtic Emblem by Apollitical Jess, brings experience with ten starts and career earnings of $24,188. He races for Big B Racing, is trained by Tim Eggleston, and will break from post three under Rolando D. Pina.

Second choice Delightful D (9-2) finished third in her qualifier, just one length behind the winner. The Uncle D filly is out of A Delightful Filly by Volcom and has placed second or third in four of her seven starts. Owned and trained by Anthony F. Cunningham, she will be ridden by Luz D. Martinez from post five.


Tenth Race: Harley Greene Derby Final – $100,500 – 350 Yards

The fifth running of the Harley Greene Derby Final features Apollitical Mission (5-2) as the morning line favorite. He posted the fastest qualifying time with a neck win over rival Ap Political Patriot. Sired by The Transmission and out of Apollitical Deb by Apollitical Jess, the gelding has three wins and $70,167 in earnings from nine starts. Owned by Phillip R. Harrison and trained by Tim Eggleston, he starts from post nine with jockey Rolando D. Pina.

Second fastest qualifier Ap Political Patriot (4-1) is by Eos A Political Win and out of Shes a Real Patriot by Game Patriot. The G3 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity winner has banked $102,902. He races for owner-trainer Oscar Preciado and will break from post eight.


Eleventh Race: Born Runner Classic – $82,600 – 400 Yards

Restricted to Indiana-breds by Indiana sires, the 12th running of the Born Runner Classic features Tachas Secret (9-5) as the standout. The Habits Secret mare, out of Sin Tachas Angel by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, is the field’s leading earner with $354,404 and a record of nine wins from 19 starts. Owned by Duke Racing, LLC, trained by Ricardo Martinez, she will be ridden by Fernando Morin from post six in her 2025 debut.

Second choice Nachor Secret (5-2) is also trained and owned by Ricardo Martinez. The four-year-old gelding, by Habits Secret out of Eyes A Favorite by Favorite Cartel, has 11 starts with ten in-the-money finishes and $173,847 in earnings. Martin Munoz will pilot him from post two.
