Saturday Stakes Doubleheader Scheduled for Arapahoe Park

AURORA, CO—JUNE 14, 2018—Margarito Montalvo’s One Two, a Colorado-bred One Sweet Jess filly and the fastest qualifier, is one of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Saturday’s 330-yard, $90,000 Rocky Mountain Futurity, one of two Quarter Horse stakes scheduled on Arapahoe Park’s eight-race program.

Trained by Jose Cruz Villafranco, One Two broke her maiden with a head victory in the first of three trials on June 1. The filly drew post 3 and will be ridden by Cerapio Figueroa.

Also on Saturday, a full field of 10 sophomores has been entered back in the 350-yard, $55,000 Rocky Mountain Derby.

Fastest qualifier Captain Force, a graded stakes winning son of Captain Courage trained by Hipolito Michel-Valverde for owner Pedro Andazola, drew the rail post and will be ridden by Edwuin Lujan. Captain Force has earned $87,432 from six starts in Oklahoma and Colorado, and he ended his juvenile season with a dead heat victory in the 440-yard, $283,000 Black Gold Futurity Championship (RG3) at Will Rogers Downs.
