Charlies Fast Man Takes The Victory In The $35,000 Equineline Stakes

GRANDE PRAIRIE, TEXAS–OCTOBER 21, 2023–Determined to score his first victory in 2023 from seven starts, Charlies Fast Man crosses the wire 1 1/2-lengths ahead of Hes Jess Dealin for the win in the $35,000 Equineline Stakes at Lone Star Park on Saturday.

Jockey Alan Hernandez piloted Charlies Fast Man to his 440-yard first place finish in :21.806 seconds for an 87 speed index. The five-year-old son of Apollitical Blood's victory paid $9.80 to win on 7/2 odds. 

After cashing in the $18,200 winner's check, Charlies Fast Dash's earnings increased to $65,997. Trained by Manuel Rodriguez, the Oklahoma Bred gelding has four career wins, including the Rillito Park Juvenile Challenge Stakes in 2020 and has been a finalist in 10 other stakes events.

Charlies Fast Man was a $23,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in 2019. Bred by Marshall Watson, he is out of Alltherightcurves by First Down Dash and owned by Jose Mendoza. 

Hes Jess Dealin, ridden by Ali Rivera, was no match for Charlies Fast man but ran game for the place. The John Stinebaugh trained gelding has lit the board 12 of 17 starts with six career wins and $154,249 in earnings.

The four-year-old stakes winning son of Dealagame is bred and owned by Pete Scarmardo in Texas. Hes Jess Dealin is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Marcy.

Post-time favorite Kowboy Jim placed third under the guidance of Bryan Candanosa. The son of FDD Dynasty took last year off but does have four stakes victories and ten lifetime wins under his belt with $283,175 in the bank.

The nine-year-old veteran is bred, owned and trained by Dean Frey. Kowboy Jim is out of Counting On You by Mr Jess Perry.

Uncle Eds Idea and Valentino Pete complete the order of finish. Jet Black Grace was scratched.
