ALTOONA, IA—AUGUSUT 20, 2023—One Fabulous Boy posted a new track record while winning his first career stakes Sunday when he defeated post time favorite Nothin Like You in the $51,425 Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge(G2) at Prairie Meadows.

Under jockey Angel Ramirez, One Fabulous Boy rolled to a :21.020 clocking, equaling a 118 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind.  The previous record for 440 yards at Prairie Meadows was set September 3, 2011, by four-time champion Spit Curl Diva.

Trainer Edward Ross Hardy saddled the son of multiple stakes sire One Fabulous Eagle to his sixth win in 12 starts for owner-breeder Paul Wolfe. The 4-year-old was bred in Oklahoma by Diane Wolfe from Check Out Kaelie by Check Him Out.

One Fabulous Boy earned $25,198 for this effort to boost his bank roll to $106,576.  The win also earned One Fabulous Boy a starting spot in the Grade 1 $300,000-est. Bank of America Challenge Championship on October 27 at Lone Star Park.

Multiple graded stakes winner Nothin Like You picked up $10,799 for second. Trainer John Hames named jockey Stormy Smith to ride the son of Favorite Cartel for owner Bradbury Racing.  Bred in Colorado by Thomas Bradbury and Lisa Beauprez, Nothin Like You has earned nearly $390,000. He is out of the Carters Cartel mare Whos Kissin Carter.

Apollitical Redflash finished 1-1/4 lengths back to earn $5,399 for third. Renee Wilson named trains the 5-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding for owner Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC. Bred in California by Rancho El Cabresto, Inc., from the Chicks Beduino Jr mare Chalala, Apollitical Redflash has earned $237,937.

Paint Your Lips P, Wieburg, Df Storm Tales and Behrable completed the field.
