MENEFEE, CA–DECEMBER 1, 2022–M&G Farms, Inc.’s Golden Boi SI 98, the 2021 AQHA Racing Champion 2-year-old Colt, will begin his stallion career at Burns Ranch in 2023 it was announced earlier this week. His fee has been set at $5,000 with consideration.
Golden Boi won the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity last year and was the fastest qualifier to the Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel, out of the Logans Dash by Toast To Dash, also won the Grade 2 El Primero Del Año Derby and the Sgt Pepper Feature Handicap earlier this year.
A California homebred for M&G Farms, Inc., Golden Boi won or placed in 10 of 12 career starts and earned $721,647 in two seasons of racing. He was trained by Valentin Zamudio.

"Burns Ranch is very excited the owners M&G Farms, Inc. chose Burns Ranch to introduce this outstanding sire prospect to the public," Steve Burns DVM said this week.
"We have watched the horse develop since he was foal here at the ranch and he will be a great addition to join his sire (Favorite Cartel) on our roster. Golden Boi is an outstanding individual who performed at the highest level of racing. He comes from a solid black type family," Burns continued.
Golden Boi's sire Favorite Cartel SI 104 ($607,689) won the Grade 1 Bank of America Challenge Championship. From on eight crops he has been a leading sire every year. The #2 Leading Sire of Money Earners with over $5.3 million in 2022, Favorite Cartel has sired 97 stakes winners, 4 champions, 568 winners with earnings in excess of $34.9 million.

The second dam is the RG2 winning Game Patriot mare Logans Game SI 93 ($157,282), dam of 14 winners, 13 ROM, 2 black type including stakes winner and RG1-placed Logans Mountain SI 100 ($397,623), stakes winner Logans Dash SI 105 (see above), RG1-finalist Logans Fast Dasher SI 96 ($72,148), Logans Mystery Man SI 91 ($56,167), etc.
