ALBUQUERQUE, NM—JUNE 27, 2026—Grade 1-placed Ask Her To Fly posted the fastest qualifying time on the second day of trials for the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Rainbow Futurity Saturday at The Downs at Albuquerque, leading five more juveniles into the July 12 final.
The five fastest qualifiers from today's 15 trial races will join the five fastest qualifiers from Friday's (June 26) day 1 trials to complete the field for the 400-yard Rainbow Futurity final, one of Quarter Horse racing's premier races for 2-year-olds.
Owned and bred in Oklahoma by A. Randall Geiselman, trained by Jason L. Olmstead, and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia, Ask Her To Fly stopped the timer in 19.573, the fastest clocking of Day 2.
"We wanted to try her at four-hundred yards and she proved us right," Garcia said in the winner’s circle. "We were concerned that she might get tired coming back, but she ran real good and keeps performing."
The daughter of leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of Ask The Question, by Teller Cartel, dominated the 14th trial, drawing away to score by 2 3/4 lengths over Cyber River after opening up early. She paid $2.80, $2.10, and $2.10.

Second-fastest qualifier Heatseeker V earned his spot with a commanding 1 3/4-length victory in the 13th trial, covering the distance in 19.594. The gray gelding by Apollitical Jess from Thewayouwantmetoo, by Mr Eye Opener, races for Valeriano Racing Stables LLC. After being squeezed leaving the gate, he quickly asserted himself and drew off impressively.
Bred in Texas by Darling Farms & Dr. Richard Beck, Heatseeker V is trained by Raymond G. Valerio and was ridden by champion jockey Francisco Calderon. A full brother to champion A Revenant, Heatseeker V was a $325,000 purchase in the 2025 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
Think Twice Perry, under jockey Christian Cardenas, posted the third fastest time in trial #12. © Coady Media "Today we got crushed the first hundred yards so I stayed chilly on him until a hole opened," jockey Francisco Calderon said. "He went through that hole we were waiting for and ended up running big. That cost him a lot of time."
Think Twice Perry secured the third-fastest qualifying mark after winning the 12th trial in 19.661, by 1 1/2 lengths. The gelded son of former leading sire Mr Jess Perry out of Budder Think Twice, by First Down Dash, is owned by Johnny Trotter, bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC, trained by James J. Gonzales II, and piloted by Christian Cardenas.
The gelding sold for $90,000 at the 2025 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale and cleared the field early before breaking his maiden in his third career start.
