RDD Reasons For B Tops Lee Berwick Futurity Qualifiers At Delta Downs

VINTON, LA—JUNE 19, 2026—Eleven trials were held Friday night at Delta Downs to determine the field for the $602,705 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1), a 350-yard race restricted to accredited Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds.

Rogelio Marquez Jr.'s RDD Reasons For B posted the fastest qualifying time of the night when she won the 10th trial under Leonardo Rodriguez. Trained by Juan Garcia, the filly covered 350 yards over a sloppy, sealed racetrack in :17.577, earning a 97 speed index. She now has two wins from three starts and earnings of $66,397.

Bred by Richard Dale Domingue, RDD Reasons For B is by Freighttrain B out of the FDD Dynasty mare FDD Reasons. Her pedigree includes champion Jess Good Reason ($422,234), winner of the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.

Purchased for $18,000 at the 2025 LQHBA Yearling Sale, RDD Reasons For B is the lone filly among the 10 qualifiers.

KJ Meduzza posted the second-fastest qualifying time after finishing second to the top qualifier in the 10th trial. Ridden by Nestor Duran for owner J.A. Racing LLC and trainer Miguel Pizana, the gelding stopped the clock in :17.645 over the same sloppy, sealed racing surface, earning a 95 speed index.

Bred by Ruse Ranch LLC, KJ Meduzza is by KJ Mucho Macho Man and out of the stakes-placed Ragazzo mare Meduzza. The second dam, La Jolla Suspect, earned $89,073 and is a half-sister to champion El Duero ($380,505).

A $20,000 RNA at the LQHBA Yearling Sale, KJ Meduzza now has a record of 5-1-3-0 with earnings of $46,284. He entered the trials off a runner-up finish in the Louisiana Bred Laddie Juvenile Stakes and was fifth in the Mardi Gras Futurity (G2).

Man For Cos won the opening trial under Jorge Garcia to post the third-fastest qualifying time of the night. Racing over a fast track, the Jose Garcia trainee covered the distance in :17.636 while earning a 95 speed index. He rallied from fifth early to win by 2¼ lengths.

A homebred for Ruse Ranch LLC, Man For Cos is by KJ Mucho Macho Man and out of the Tee Cos mare Just For Cos.

The female family includes champion Really Dash and graded stakes winners Royal Bushwhacker ($290,770) and Andelay Baby Andalay ($103,356).

He now owns a record of 4-3-0-0 with earnings of $23,759 after entering the trials off a finalist effort in the Louisiana Bred Laddie Futurity (G2).

The Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) final will be contested July 11 at Delta Downs.
