OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 30, 2026—Point Blank Range dug in late and held off a determined rally from stablemate Jc Speeding to win the Grade 2 Heritage Place Derby on Saturday night at Remington Park, covering 400 yards in 19.480 seconds while earning a 98 speed index in the $335,800 event for 3-year-old Quarter Horses.
Owned by 918 Bloodstock and trained by Dee Keener, Point Blank Range earned $141,036 for the victory. Roman Cruz rode the sorrel gelding by third-crop sire Tell Cartel out of Fannie Blankers, by Bodacious Dash. The Oklahoma-bred was bred by J. Garvan Kelly and J. Lloyd Yother.
The lightly raced Point Blank Range broke sharply, seized the early lead, and had enough left to fend off his closing barnmate at the wire.
