LOS ALAMITOS–MARCH 29, 2026–On a weekend in which 30 of the 39 juvenile entrants remain eligible for the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity, here are the six freshman sprinters who visited the winner’s circle following their debuts::
BRIDGEWATER
This Mpshinning filly, owned by Jose Moreno, is out of the graded stakes-placed runner and $66k earner No Arizona. Bridgewater worked sharply from the inside post in :12.3, though she was second-best to the morning’s bullet drill of :12.2 posted by impressive maiden winner Contentious. Despite bumping with Contentious during that drill, she remained unfazed. Bridgewater proved her grit in her debut, digging in to win her maiden by a length in a 220-yard time of :12.098. Ricardo Ramirez piloted her for trainer Jose Flores. She remains eligible for the Kindergarten trials.
MONDAY DYNASTY
Guadalupe Cortez’s Oklahoma-bred colt by Cyber Monday is out of Lady Dynasty, a half-sister to 2019 Ed Burke Million winner Flokie. Monday Dynasty worked from the inside post in :12.7, finishing evenly with AJ Million Sign. Though he broke with his head high and looked a bit green in that drill, he has clearly learned his lessons well following a gate work at Sunland Park on February 14. In his debut, Monday Dynasty aced the test, flying from the gate despite angling out at the break and powering to a 1 ½-length win. Edwin Escobedo was up for trainer James J. Gonzalez II, stopping the clock in :12.157 at 220 yards. The Cavanaugh Quarter Horses-bred runner is Kindergarten eligible.
CYBER EYES
An Arizona-bred filly also sired by Cyber Monday, she is out of two-time winner Jess Racy Eyes, a daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Miss Racy Eyes. Owned by the partnership of Jose Flores, Julio Encinas, and Mark and Marta Winslow, Cyber Eyes worked evenly with Texas Cowgirl in :12.7 on March 11. After veering in at the start, she responded nicely when asked for more, showing massive improvement over a forgettable March 4 drill. She took another leap forward in her racing debut, winning by ¾ lengths after shrugging off contact at the start. Her winning time for the 220 yards was :12.274. Keep an eye on her during Kindergarten trial night.
GORGEOUS GUY
The Ed Allred-owned Golden Boi gelding is out of $20k earner Comely. His second dam is the champion broodmare Moonlight Corona, a prolific producer of multiple graded stakes winners for Rolling A Ranch. He worked sharply in :12.4 from the inside post, eclipsing Copper Sun’s :12.6 on March 18. He lived up to his name in his debut, cruising to victory by 1 ¼ lengths in :12.172. Interestingly, connections will skip the Kindergarten to look ahead toward the Governor’s Cup Futurity trials in early July.
“The Golden Bois are all big, smart, and seem to pick things up pretty well,” trainer Scott Willoughby said. “We didn’t know how their speed was going to be, but it’s turned out great. We’re liking him quite a bit. I loved Golden Boi when he was a 2-year-old; he got sick on us, but I think he was one of the fastest runners here when he was competing.”
BOSS LEYEND
EG High Desert Farms’ Favorite Cartel filly is out of G1 Ed Burke Million winner and AQHA Champion filly Walk Thru Crystal. Boss Leyend posted a solid :12.5 drill from the inside, finishing ahead of Standing With Pride (:12.7) and Emperador Felix (:12.8). She broke cleanly and showed immediate quickness, a trait she mirrored in her debut. Leading from gate to wire, she won by a head under Jesus Rios Ayala for trainer Jesus Nunez, finishing the 220 yards in :12.103. After an easy-going early ride and a slight push at the midway point, she maintained a comfortable lead. Her strong gallop-out left no doubt she was the "boss" of the field. Look for her in the trials for the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity.
EMPERADOR D
The Jaime Gomez-trained gelding by Docs Best Card is out of Tainted Love, a daughter of All About Love from the family of multiple stakes winner Artesia. Owned by Francisco Diaz and ridden by Martin Arriaga, Emperador D secured a win in the lone juvenile event on Sunday, covering 220 yards in :12.37. He remains eligible for the Kindergarten trials.
