MEXICO CITY, MEX–MARCH 15, 2026–Apollitical Spanish made a winning debut in the $24,500 Maiden Stakes on Sunday at Hipodromo de las Americas.

Leading from gate to wire in the 300-yard maiden stakes, the four-year-old colt defeated the field by 1 ¾-lengths. Sent off as the heavy favorite, Apollitical Spanish posted a 90 speed index while stopping the clock in 17.46 seconds under jockey Huberclein Gomez.

Owned by Rancho El Pirul and trained by Cesar Garcia Serrano, the California-bred colt made the first start of his career. Bred by Armando Leon, the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess is out of Spanish Cartel, by Corona Cartel.

Ridden by Jesus Loredo, Bolt Thru My Heart finished second for owner Rancho Las Amazonas. Trainer Leonilo Cruz Garcia conditions the Oklahoma-bred filly by Bolt of Fire. Trained by Monty McNair, she the $13,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate is out of Corona Valentine, by Corona Cartel.

Although still seeking her first victory, Bolt Thru My Heart has been competitive against stakes company. She placed second in the Jodys Glory Classic and was a finalist in both the Alfredo Castro Rea Classic and the Jesus Nuchi Jimenez Sanchez Classic. From 14 starts, she has earned $22,500.

Apolitically Fast finished third for owner Cuadra Alpuyeca. J.E. Pineda had the riding call aboard the Oklahoma-bred sorrel gelding, trained by Antonio Garcia. Bred by Larry K Marcum and Nancy C Wells. Apolitically Fast is by Apollitical Jess and out of Ms Tesla Jess, by FDD Dynasty. The Maiden Stakes marked his the second lifetime start.

AJ Emerald Diamond, From Arizona, Ducan, Paint Da Town, Br Latino, and Wind River completed the order of finish.
