Flashtoglory Adds New Mexico Classic Distaff Stakes Victory At Zia Park

HOBBS, NM–DECEMBER 14, 2025–Multiple Grade 1 winner Flashtoglory added another marquee victory to her resume Sunday afternoon at Zia Park, rallying late to capture the $100,000 New Mexico Classic Quarter Horse Distaff Stakes for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares.

Ridden by Christian Ramos, Flashtoglory produced a strong late surge to get up by a neck over stubborn pacesetter Good Things Come, completing the 350 yards in 17.376 seconds and earning a 95 speed index over a fast track. The race was contested under cloudy skies with a 4 mph headwind.

Trained and owned by David Meridyth, the black mare is by multiple Champion sire First Moonflash and out of JP Glory Be, a winning mare by Feature Mr Jess. Foaled in New Mexico and bred by David Meridyth, Flashtoglory collected the $57,600 winner’s share, pushing her career earnings to $553,862.

The Distaff triumph continued Flashtoglory’s dominance at the top level of New Mexico racing. She entered the race off consecutive victories in the New Mexico Classic Filly and Mare Championship (G1) in both 2024 and 2025, and her resume also includes a win in the Lou Wooten and Sydney Valentini Stakes (G2) in 2024. Her career record now stands at 26-8-8-4.

Good Things Come finished a game second after setting the pace throughout. Ridden by Jacob Enriquez, the mare is by Eye Am King, the current No. 4 Leading Sire of 2025 Money Earners, and is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Fiery Dreams. Trained by Clinton Crawford for owner Renee K. Wilson, Good Things Come now has a career record of 15-2-4-2 with earnings of $135,775.

Completing the trifecta was Copy Of Jess, who improved late to finish third under Christian Cardenas. The mare is by stakes sire Jesse James Jr and is out of the Heza Fast Man mare Fast Copy Miss. Trained by James Gonzales III for owners Denis and Julie Schoenhofer, Copy Of Jess has earned $134,387 while compiling a career record of 18-4-1-4.

JM Famousberry, Chicka Boom Babe, Eye For Cambria, Big Daddy Farr, EBW Dancnthemoonlite, Queen Of The Jingle, and Jess Emotions completed the field.
