LOS ALAMITOS, CA—OCTOBER 4, 2025—Doodah Cartel, a 2-year-old colt by leading sire Favorite Cartel out of Suite Expectations by Apollitical Jess, set the fastest qualifying time from four trials held Saturday night for the Grade 1, $1,170,950 Golden State Million Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course.
The colt, trained by Paul C. Jones for himself and owners Thompson Racing, Inc., and Alexis Andrade, stopped the clock in 19.859 for 400 yards, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead in the seventh of 14 trials.
Henry Reynoso Lopez rode the 2-year-old multiple stakes finalist, who Jones and Thompson Racing bred in California. Doodah Cartel’s effort secured him the top qualifying spot for the October 26 final.

Doodah Cartel previously qualified for the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million and the PCQHRA Futurities, finishing fourth in the former while suffering a troubled trip in the PCQHRA last month. He has banked $87,122 in eight starts this year.
Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1) winner Jess Im Worth It posted a time of 19.870 seconds in the fifth trial to become the second-fastest qualifier for owner-breeder EG High Desert Farms LLC.
The homebred colt by A Mere Felix out of Jess Hawk by One Sweet Jess is trained by Jesus Nunez and was ridden by Ricardo S. Ramirez.

Jess Im Worth It, a $40,000 repurchase at the 2024 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, impressed with a strong late finish to edge several top prospects for his qualifying berth. The winner of four of five career starts has banked $431,355 this season.
Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity(G2) winner Beuteeful, purchased for $29,000 at the 2024 Ruidoso Yearling Sale, was the third-fastest qualifier, with a time of 19.892.
The undefeated Kvn Corona filly, out of Budder Think Twice by First Down Dash, races for Keith W. Nellesen and was bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC. She is trained by Kristen Watanabe and was ridden by Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo. The four-time winner has earned $127,006.
Dunn Ranch was the leading owner with four qualifiers: 6th Dr Make It Sweet, 7th Warm Springs, 8th Aj Cyclone, and 9th Dr Stone Cold.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday’s trials will return for the $1,170,950 Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity final on Sunday, October 26, at Los Alamitos Race Course.
The 400-yard event will bring together some of the year’s top 2-year-olds, all vying for a share of one of the richest futurity purses in Quarter Horse racing.
