Ivory Macho Man Captures $421,500 Dash For Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 4, 2025—Ivory Macho Man proved strongest in the final yards to capture the Grade 2, $421,500 Dash For Cash Futurity on Saturday night at Lone Star Park.

The sorrel gelding stopped the timer at 19.765 seconds for 400 yards, earning a 92 speed index while facing a 4-mph headwind over a fast track.

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Rito Sosa, the son of last year's leading first-crop sire Kj Mucho Macho Man out of Alondra Grace by Ivory James was ridden to victory by Bryan Candanosa for trainer Jose Gamez.

Ivory Macho Man closed strongly to prevail by a neck and earned $168,600, boosting his career total to $205,854 with a record of (5) 4-1-0. The victory capped an impressive campaign for the consistent juvenile who had previously won three of four starts.

Unleeshed, a bay gelding by world champion sire Freighttrain B out of Thermonuclear Energy by Walk Thru Fire, finished second after a determined late bid.

Owned by Orona Racing LLC, trained by Angel Sanchez, and ridden by Luis Flores-Garcia, the Texas-bred was bred in Texas by AQHA Racing Champion breeder Bobby D. Cox.

Unleeshed added $71,655 to his bankroll, increasing his lifetime earnings to $90,222. He entered the final with a three-race win streak that included trials for the Rainbow Futurity, All American Futurity, and Dash For Cash Futurity. The talented gelding was purchased for $78,000 at the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.

A Maverick, a sorrel gelding by champion A Revenant out of Down Some Gold by First Down Dash, set the early pace before fading late to finish third, a neck behind Unleeshed.

Bred in Texas by Triple K Farms, A Maverick races for Jose Ramirez Garcia, is trained by Yasmine Medina, and was ridden by Claudio Aguilar. The $24,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate earned $42,150, bringing his career total to $381,510. The effort ended his three-race win streak, which included a victory in the restricted Grade 1 $620,000 TQHA Sale Futurity in July.

Ivory Macho Man paid $7.80 to win, $4.80 to place, and $3.40 to show. Unleeshed returned $3.80 to place and $3.80 to show, while A Maverick paid $3.40 to show.

Wynston, Di Kvn Waven, Fire Chilitos, Cm Heavenly Cowboy, Bludz Valiant Policy, Ocho Rojo, and Brother Gaga completed the order of finish.
