SHAKOPEE, MN–SEPTEMBER 6, 2025–Holy Dynasty delivered as the post-time favorite on Saturday at Canterbury Park with a closing kick to seal the deal in the $47,200 Minnesota Quarter Horse Futurity.

Holy Dynasty stopped the clock for 350 yards over a fast track, earning a 77 speed index and a breeder-owner, Daniel Kjorsvik.

Breaking toward the back of the pack, Holy Dynasty surged late under jockey Eugenio Navarrete Jr. to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Sophey and This Eagle Can Rock in 18.381 seconds. Trainer Patrick Swan saddled the son of FDD Dynasty for owner-breeder Daniel Kjorsvik.

“He ran a good race here a couple of months ago, but he was really green getting out of the gate, just really immature mentally and physically,” Kjorsvik said. “So we circled this race and took a step back. Pat did a really good job of working with him, trying to get him over those gate issues and let him grow up a little, and it worked out.”

The victory marked his second futurity triumph from just four starts, as he also won the North Star State Futurity earlier this summer. Both of his career wins have come in futurity competition. The $21,673 winner’s share boosted his lifetime earnings to $36,335.

Kjorsvik added that Holy Dynasty, who is out of the Polished Brass (TB) mare Holy White Socks, will get the rest of the year off before preparing for a three-year-old campaign at Remington Park next spring.

Runner-up Sophey, a gray filly also by FDD Dynasty, set the pace under Armando Alvidrez before being collared late. Trained by Jason Olmstead for owner-breeder Lunderborg LLC, she crossed the wire a neck behind the winner.

Out of the Moonin The Eagle mare Sweet Carol Line, Sophey remains a maiden but has been ultra-consistent, finishing second twice and third three times in five career starts with $17,403 in the bank, including third to Holy Dynasty in the North Star State Futurity.

This Eagle Can Rock, a chestnut filly by This Is an Eagle, earned her first black type a neck-back for third under Oscar Andrade Jr. Bred by Eugene and Rita Boehlke, she is campaigned by owner-trainer Tyler Stein.

The filly out of Lets Rock This Clock by Game Patriot has a record of one win, one second, and one third from four starts with $20,095 in earnings. This Eagle Can Rock previously competed in the North Star State Futurity, finishing eighth behind the same top two.

Spicy Cartel, Kvnferrarigirl, Del Cartel, Fire in D Sky, Sale Barn Cafe, and Bottumz Up completed the official order of finish.
