BLACKFOOT, ID—SEPTEMBER 6, 2025—Rtm Ginsburg broke sharply from the gate and never looked back to capture the $10,000 Idaho Bred Quarter Horse Maturity (not black type) on Saturday at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot.
Covering the 350-yard distance over a fast track, the gray gelding stopped the timer in 17.342 seconds and earned a speed index of 113 while racing into a steady eight-mph crosswind.
The victory was worth $5,500 to the owner of RTM Stables LLC, who gave trainer Mark Hanson another stakes win in the program, with jockey Dakota Wood piloting the winner to a commanding three-quarter-length score.
Bred in Idaho by Susan T. Hanson, Rtm Ginsburg is a 5-year-old son of First Moonflash out of Rtm Say Your Prayers, by Chickie Cherry Cola. A multiple stakes winner, Rtm Ginsburg has won seven of 21 career starts and banked $52,067.He returned $6.60 to win, $4.20 to place, and $3.00 to show.
Stablemate Rtm My Turn, also bred by Susan T. Hanson and campaigned by RTM Stables LLC, finished second after a strong late drive. The 4-year-old gray gelding, by five-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty out of Rtm Say Your Prayers, is a half-brother to the winner.
Ridden by Jose Figueroa, Rtm My Turn finished three-quarters of a length back and earned $2,500 for his runner-up effort. A multiple stakes-placed earner of nearly $30,000, he paid $4.00 to place and $4.00 to show.
Bw Just A Ruger, a 4-year-old bay filly by Justified out of Bw Robins Lark, by Ettaduino, rallied steadily under jockey Jesus Flores to finish third, another length and a quarter behind the runner-up. Bred in Idaho by Thomas Boyd and Betty Weeks and owned by Maria E. Baltodano, the Glen Jamison trainee collected $1,500 for her performance and returned $2.80 to show.
The pari-mutuel payoffs were $6.60 to win, $4.20 to place, and $3.00 to show on Rtm Ginsburg. Rtm My Turn returned $4.00 to place and $4.00 to show, while Bw Just a Ruger paid $2.80 to show.
Smokin Lil Wagon finished fourth after an even effort, followed by Mz Paquita in fifth, Idaho Jess in sixth, Radar in seventh, and Raise Prime Cash rounding out the field in eighth.
